CLOSED: A New FCC.gov - Feedback

This forum is now closed. There will be future opportunities to comment on the FCC.gov website.*

We will be rolling out updates to the new FCC.gov on a regular basis. Share your thoughts and ideas on what to add to the next release, or ways we can improve the user experience or functionality on FCC.gov.

How can we improve the new FCC.gov?

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

There are two ways to get more votes:

  • When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.
  • You can remove your votes from an open idea you support.
  • To see ideas you have already voted on, select the "My feedback" filter and select "My open ideas".

Enter your idea and we'll search to see if someone has already suggested it.

If a similar idea already exists, you can support and comment on it.

If it doesn't exist, you can post your idea so others can support it.

Enter your idea and we'll search to see if someone has already suggested it.

  1. complaint form

My comment is that the internet complaint process is too restrictive. One can only complain about the topics the FCC chooses. I want to complain that Time Warner is dropping an important channel to rural New England. The are dropping New England Cable News Network. Right now they will only allow one Boston channel on our system. Just because we live closer to Albany, NY does not mean that we do not want to be informed about our state or about our New England region. Where can we complain about this on your website? Thank you.

  2. mobile version of site

The website must incorporate ability to view current issues and comments across different platforms. Most americans today are on the go, and for them to be able to keep track of events and post comments from mobile devices is necessary.

  3. We need to relace the FCC with a govt. entity that does what the tax payers want, and sticks to family standards! When all states that vote

CONCERNING THE DROPPING OF WHAT LITTLE MORAL STANDARDS THAT THERE ARE IN PROGRAMING: We need to relace the FCC with a govt. entity that does what the tax payers want, and sticks to family standards! When all states that voted on their ballots if ********** marriages should be legal all had a 90% no gay marriage, and all 6 states that passed it tried to repeal it, yet the FCC goes against the state's laws letting the media air the very thing that almost all the US population voted against, and the same with the nudity, the majority of the…

  4. Add a date/time stamp to all user posts so readers can see when filed. Also, when action is taken on a post here, post the action and date.

The value of this feedback section will only be realized when useful comments or proposals are addressed. Date/time stamps on proposals and new posts when action is taken will communicate progress.

  8. I don't even know how to use this feedback page. What are votes? Why do I have to login?

Why can't we just give general feedback in normal comments? I don't understand what voting means or why I need to vote on something, let alone why I only get 10 or 1, 2, or 3 at a time. Bizarre system. Matching the equally unusable website.

  10. Space to Report unlicensed operators

There is not a easy way to let the FCC know of Unlicensed Stations. I have tried the other routes and to no avail. If there was a e-mail address even to a local office would help.

  11. Make divisions reachable from the home page, not just bureaus

The Wireline Competition Industry Analysis Division has extremely useful data, but one would never know it with the new site. There is no way to get there unless you already know it exists. Nor is there a way to search for any of its reports effectively.

  12. In the display options, you can switch to Espanol, but not back to english.

In the display options, you can switch to Espanol, but not back to english. Once you do that, there's an American flag icon that appears in the Display options, but doesn't do anything.

  14. Make the search application more thorough

I look for decisions and orders that I know exist, but they fail to be disclosed. In one case, I inserted the actual title of the docket and asked the search tool to search under "title", and though I knew there were at least three orders, the search only listed one. I don't recall that happening in the past. It worries me. Has the search functionality been modified? I'd rather have too many hits and trust how I can narrow them down than know that important ones are simply missing.

  16. Basic Information

How about simple, legible & readily accessible lists of radio & television broadcast stations? If that information is here, it's buried deep.

  18. Items on Circulation

Like the former fcc.gov web page, the new web page needs a link to items on circulation.

  19. Need more contrast in blue on blue & Display Options text at top.

Especially if it (medium blue bar) will be used for messaging in the future.

  20. In recent US appellate court,11-1355, Verizon v US F.C.C, the court says "no neutrality"

In recent US appellate court,11-1355, Verizon v US F.C.C, the court says "Given that the Commission has chosen to classify broadband
providers in a manner that exempts them from treatment as
common carriers, the Communications Act expressly prohibits
the Commission from nonetheless regulating them as such."

So, why doesn't the FCC Board simply reclassify Internet Service Providers (broadband, dialup, fiber-optics) as "Essential Utilities"? Then the FCC can properly regulate this 21st century UTILITY as it should be doing now, by protecting the ability of Americans to EQUAL and unfettered access to the information they choose on the Internet and not…
