  1. In the display options, you can switch to Espanol, but not back to english.

In the display options, you can switch to Espanol, but not back to english. Once you do that, there's an American flag icon that appears in the Display options, but doesn't do anything.

  2. Items on Circulation

Like the former fcc.gov web page, the new web page needs a link to items on circulation.

  3. I don't even know how to use this feedback page. What are votes? Why do I have to login?

Why can't we just give general feedback in normal comments? I don't understand what voting means or why I need to vote on something, let alone why I only get 10 or 1, 2, or 3 at a time. Bizarre system. Matching the equally unusable website.

  4. Whatever happen to "Layman's Terms"? Why is the FCC website so difficult to understand?

I want to an asset to my community by applying myself and obtaining a Ham license but I got a headache after one hour on your site and never finding what I was looking for. Here is a simply question:How much for a lifetime Ham Radio operators license? After one hour,I still couldn't find the answer.

  5. The site is not accessible to the blind.

The site is apparently using new code. It is nearly impossible to use. I am a Radio broadcast engineer an I rely on the site. I am also legally blind. In it's new form, I will not be able to get around it. It makes no sense to a person listening to it with a screen reader. It is repeating "type in text" for every letter I am typing right now, due to what? It does not happen on any other site. There are no HTML Headings now on the old page, where did they go? Menus on the new…

  6. Create Forums to get the People Involved

Create a Forums on the site and link articles and ideas to the forums. So not only do we get general comments, but people can also become involved and have a voice in their government and in the FCC. The most important part of the FCC is communication, which this would help accomplish.

  7. Site needs IA more than design

This new site design is beautiful; it’s impressive for a government page. I feel like the design isn’t really the issue though. The information on the site is still poorly organized, and seems to assume you understand the government lingo the FCC works under. I think the FCC should consider reworking the site to focus on helping the public understand and navigate the issues the FCC deals with, and not on a flashy “web 2.0” look.
    Consider hiring an Information Architect…

  9. Make it usable by the people not lawyers and technicians.

It does not appear that your average American could make heads or tails of this website.
As a taxpayer I want to know what this agency is doing.

  11. Don't require scripting

A requirement for scripting creates endless browser compatibility issues, opens countless security holes, and creates conflicts with beneficial browser security features and plug-ins. It also paves the way for spying on users. For example, on this page, there are "Google analytics" scripts which spy on users' activities! It is highly inappropriate for any government Web site to enable spying on visitors by a private corporation.

  13. Looks Good Needs More Dynamic live applications

Off to a great start. Site needs more automation and live real-time apps.
Cut more red tape with online license applications, approved with a click of the mouse! No more download, pdf, word docx's and mail in forms. All real time, more user friendly where the common joe can understand and personal is the right direction.

  14. Job Vacancies

Add a link to FCC Job Vacancies on the OMD page, in addition to the Jobs link in the dropdown.

  15. Use the original, *classic* FCC logo

The site should prominently display the agency's REAL logo -- the classic federal eagle sitting on telecom towers with phone wires & lightning bolts. The logo using the big F with the concentric C's appears on the bottom of electric appliances to denote compliance with interference standards, and should be limited to that purpose.

  16. Space to Report unlicensed operators

There is not a easy way to let the FCC know of Unlicensed Stations. I have tried the other routes and to no avail. If there was a e-mail address even to a local office would help.

  17. A rule search engine would be great. Just rules and not the reference to a rule.

A rule search engine would be very useful. Just rules specific, not all the extraneous references that come up every time you search a rule number. I just want an easy way to see a rule.

  18. Fire the logo designer

Fire the logo designer and make it obvious that this is the FCC site, not some obscure symbol. This is a Technical site as well as a marketing tool for the FCC

  20. The changing logo on scroll is slightly distracting.

The animation and change tends to catch the eye on scroll, maybe it'd be better to always display the smaller logo?
