My.FCC.gov General Feedback
How can MyFCC be made better? What changes would you make to existing widgets in order to improve them?

old functionality
This could have promise, but I'd still like the old functionality of just listing all of the Commission orders from any given year. Could we add that as a widget? This allows us lawyers to fairly exhaustively find all of the Commission actions in a given year, which adds certainty to our searches. (Also, I think one of the widgets wants us to list up to five bureaus that we want to see orders from, but an option for general Commission orders is not provided.)

Create User account ability...
Not require a third party website, such as, facebook, twitter, etc... to log in. I would rather keep my passwords separate and not use outside connection to log into myfcc.

An excellent start. Would also love:
(1) The business widget to link directly to the substantive pages (e.g., EDOCS would go directly to advanced search rather than overview of EDOCs and quick search, same with ECFS, Transactions would go directly to Major Transactions page rather than description of Transactions Team)
(2) Update to the Personal Links widget to allow you to order them after you've input them (like you can order which type of documents you want to see first in the Topic Watcher)
(3) And like another commenter requested a quick link to the list of all Commission orders from any given year (like on…3 votes -
ECFS
It would be useful if we could do searches on ECFS and be able to download the documents to our tablets or smartphones.

Buggy for now but good idea
Overall myfcc is a very good idea. Right now it's way too buggy. I'll come back to it in a few months. You might also want to make the comments age more intuitive

Be More Mindful of de facto "Monopolies"
Comcast essentially has a monopoly on Internet services in the Denver metro area. Recently, their customer service has been insanely poor causing problems for customers as well as the unfortunate people who have to deal with angry customers. Something's amiss at Comcast. They're mailing equipment I never ordered; changing/adding services never authorized; disconnecting service without explanation; not advising customers of critical details related to service and equipment, and that's just in the month of November 2012. I've made between 7 and 10 calls to them this month alone trying to straighten out their messes just to get my telephone and…

Make major new rule changes like new cross-ownership rule (Jan 2013) easy to find and understand
You can "improve FCC" by featuring top 5 new rule changes on front, give details on deadline and where to comment online (or email)? Where can we read FCC rationale for cross-ownership rule change? Navigating FCC site is a nightmare. Are you afraid of repeat of massive public response of thousands of comments you got last two times you tried to increase media conglomeration with cross-ownership in 2003 and 2007? People who hear about rule and come here to comment give up quickly in frustration, like a Soviet-style website. Why no public hearings on this rule this time?

Email search engines that invade privacy via email address
There are several companies that offer (for a price) information from a person's email address personal information as to address, gender, and communities joined or companies ordered from... how is this legal? Try it yourself, write your email address in a search engine and see what i mean....

Call Sign Lookup Widget (for broadcast stations)
The output of the call sign lookup widget is of limited utility for broadcast stations. It's uncelar that a broadcast station's Facility ID is contained within the License ID. It would also be helpful if, for broadcast stations, the results included more information about the station (rather than the licensee). For example, including community of license and basic engineering (HAAT, power, coordinates, ASR, and a link to the contour maps that the MB's TV and FM Queries generate) would significantly enhance the utility of the widget.

Federal Register Widget
Can you make the Fed. Reg. widget display all of the day's FCC publications instead of the most recent five? Most of the time, I'm interested to know what has been published in the most recent Fed. Reg. issue rather than the five most recent publications. Knowing that a day's Fed. Reg. issue does *not* include any FCC items is also useful information.

SERIOUSLY WRONG APPROACH
I find your new home page egregiously offensive, both emotionally and intellectually.
Why does the FCC feel compelled to compete with grossly over-hyped and over-dramatized TV news? Is this really the best approach to getting more citizens to educate themselves? Did anyone try plain and simple language before embarking on a Madison Avenue/Hollywood approach?
Did the FCC try providing straightforward answers to questions the voting public doesn't ask anymore because they never get answers to the questions they ask from government or private enterprise?
Your Bill Shock initiative is certainly appreciated and for the moment I am still reasonably certain…

Nonworking unsubscribe option
Convenient manner in which to report companies that have outdated or bogus non subscribe options. It would seem that this could be an
automatic function once the complaint is verified.2 votes -
Is there a method to forward SPAM with out opening the mail?
Can there be a method to forward SPAM with out having to open the email? This would ensure that SPAM is reported and would limit it's excess...what is the use of CAN SPAM if the method to stop it is not effective nor accessible? Typos on first ideal so sending again.

more info for speedtests
When asking consumers to do a speed test, you should ask for provider, advertised speed, and cost of service. Addition questions that would be helpful are, other services included in given price and satisfaction.

WHY does nearly everything you click on open in a new page/tab??? The entire 'NEW FCC.gov' appears to have been poorly designed.
The entire NEW 'fcc.org' is poorly designed and does not serve the professional user or the general public. It looks as though it's another glaring example of someone being awarded a 'design' contract and not knowing the end users and how they actually use the site. 'Change for the sake of change' instead of change to answer a need and improve function. Typical of government... "because we can"! AWFUL.
