It has been two years and there is still no word on this. It seems to have quietly been set aside with no ruling and no explanation. According to the FCC Encyclopedia, the proposal to license GMRS “by rule” instead of the current individual licensing requirement is still pending. This leaves current and future licensees of the GMRS in limbo. If the commission is going to procrastinate or decline to address it, at least inform the public as to why. Such inaction does not serve the public.
